VISITING THE RECENT FLOODED AREAS OF THE MARCONI PROJECT’S STUDY CASES

During past Sunday 12nd and Monday 13rd February 2017, some of the study cases of the MARCONI project were flooded by flash floods, causing important damages in houses, streets, roads and other infrastructures. Three technicians belonging to the Geological Survey of Spain (one of them a MARCONI research team member), visited the affected areas recording different post-event data, such as: high-water marks, sediment load deposition, the role of bridges and drainage infrastructure, etc. These data will be used for hydraulic modelling calibration and for the improvement of the social resilience against flood risk
